The centre helps to combat a feeling of loneliness and isolation and prolongs active participation in the community. The Centre is open two days per week on Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and includes morning tea and lunch at 1:00 p.m. The meals are prepared and cooked on the premises and consist of soup and a full second course, with meat and vegetables on Wednesdays and fish on Fridays. Polish speaking volunteers offer free advocacy, translation, doctors’ visits and help with preparation of last Wills and Testaments. The group watch Polish TV, play cards and board games and do seated exercises.
