Berkshire Vision Volunteer Driver
What is involved? The Volunteer Club Driver will be asked to collect BCBS visually impaired member/s from their homes and transport them to and from Club each month, using their own vehicle. NB The Volunteer is strongly advised to contact their insurer to inform them of this activity. • The amount of members to be transported, pick up areas and times to be agreed with the Club Chairman/Transport Organiser. Often the volunteer will be transporting the same member/s each month but this may sometimes vary, depending on needs. • The volunteer will be very welcome to stay for the duration of the Club meeting but this is not mandatory –the Club is a really enjoyable sociable afternoon and a good opportunity to meet other volunteers and our visually impaired members. • The volunteer is entitled to claim mileage allowance for this role . •There may be one or two Outings organised for the members by the Club Committee during the year in place of the usual Club meeting that month. Times and locations for these will vary from the normal arrangements and though transport help would usually be preferred, it is not obligatory for the volunteer to assist on these occasions. •Out of pocket expenses (such as lunch) on an Outing can be claimed
