Stroke Association: Helping at a support group for those affected by a stroke
Stroke can be a devastating experience – help us rebuilding lives after stroke! We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with excellent organisational and communication skills to help run a stroke support group. The Stroke Association helps people by providing long term social and peer support, organising events and opportunities to meet together. This reduces isolation at a key time and also helps members rebuild their confidence. We meet once a month for a cuppa and a chat, we have visiting speakers and a variety of activities. The support group is run by volunteers and a variety of tasks are shared out amongst the team. We are looking for a volunteer who will help with administrative tasks such as: managing group's communications, ensure paperwork is up-to-date, and liaising with the Stroke Association. If you are a proactive person with excellent organisational and communication skills, you enjoy the company of others and know how to create a welcoming and supportive environment we would love to hear from you!
